RatPDF ("we", "our", "the service") operates ratpdf.com and related subdomains. This policy explains what information we collect, how uploaded files are handled, and your choices.

1. Files you upload

When you use PDF conversion, compression, merge, or similar server-side tools, your file is transmitted over HTTPS to our application servers (hosted on Microsoft Azure).

  • Files are written to temporary server storage only for the duration of processing.
  • Completed outputs may be stored in private Azure Blob Storage until you download them or they expire.
  • Automated cleanup jobs remove old blobs and job metadata on a schedule.
  • We do not manually review document contents except when required to investigate abuse or technical failures you report.

Some lightweight utilities (formatters, counters, client-side previews) may process data entirely in your browser without uploading the file. Each tool page describes its behaviour.

2. Account & billing information

If you create an account or subscribe to Pro:

  • We store your email address and authentication identifiers.
  • Payments are processed by Razorpay; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Subscription status and invoice references are kept for billing support and tax records.

3. Technical logs

Like most websites, we collect limited technical data:

  • IP address, browser type, and referring URL (standard web server logs)
  • Anonymous usage counters (tool name, success/failure, file size bucket) to monitor capacity
  • Error traces without document content when a conversion fails

Logs are retained for a short period for security and debugging, then rotated.

4. Cookies & advertising

We use cookies for:

  • Session authentication (signed-in users)
  • Remembering daily free-tier usage limits
  • Analytics and advertising partners such as Google AdSense

Third-party ad networks may set their own cookies to serve and measure ads. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, Google Ads Settings.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share data only with:

  • Infrastructure providers (Microsoft Azure) under data-processing agreements
  • Payment processor (Razorpay) to complete transactions you initiate
  • Law enforcement when legally compelled and narrowly scoped

6. Security measures

  • TLS encryption in transit
  • Private blob containers (no public listing of uploads)
  • Least-privilege access to production systems
  • Regular dependency updates for conversion engines

No online service can guarantee absolute security; avoid uploading highly classified material.

7. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your location you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold (account email, billing records). Contact us via the contact page. Because uploaded PDFs are ephemeral, deletion usually occurs automatically within hours.

8. Children's privacy

The service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes

We may update this policy when we add tools or change hosting practices. Material changes will be posted on this page.
