Security & file handling
How RatPDF processes uploaded documents on secure cloud infrastructure.
Transport encryption
All uploads and downloads use HTTPS (TLS 1.2+). Files are not transmitted over unencrypted HTTP.
Server-side processing
- Your file arrives at our application servers (Microsoft Azure).
- It is written to temporary disk storage for the duration of the conversion job.
- Output files may be stored in private Azure Blob Storage until you download them or they expire.
- Background cleanup jobs delete stale blobs and job metadata on a schedule.
We do not manually read document contents except when investigating abuse or technical failures you report.
Client-side tools
Some utilities (formatters, counters, previews) may process data entirely in your browser without uploading files. Each tool page describes whether processing is local or server-side.
What we do not do
- We do not sell uploaded documents to third parties.
- We do not use document contents for advertising profiling.
- We do not claim ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certification unless explicitly stated on a specific page.
Password & encryption tools
PDF password protection uses standard PDF encryption (see ISO 32000). Passwords are used only for the encryption job and are not stored after processing completes.
